(8:55 AM) Alert: Hi , Welcome to TTT

tomthetrader: Good Morning
(8:56 AM) steve_45_4: gm
(8:56 AM) steve_45_4: hope you had a quit evening
tomthetrader: On to the markets. The first third of the Bear Market ended on March 9th, 2009, which is our March 13th +/- phi mate turn date, coming four days early.
tomthetrader: From Mc Hugh
tomthetrader: Yes ...Thank Steve
tomthetrader: This is a fabulous opportunity, a gift from God, to raise cash before the third wave of the Bear Market starts. Take advantage of it as it develops. The Great Depression of 1929 through 1933 saw a three wave market move, with a relatively short middle rally leg that had folks excited. But the third leg crushed stock prices down to a 90 percent loss from the highs in 1929, and left price flat and low from then until World War II.

tomthetrader: hl was a great short
(12:02 PM) Fulkdaddy: Jason Leavitt said that the first hour, based on several years of stats, 57% of the time, the H or Low is established in the First hour.
(12:02 PM) Fulkdaddy: but not both
tomthetrader: Market acting exactly the way it should
tomthetrader: very well
tomthetrader: and holding the gains well
tomthetrader: Stock picking becomes very KEY in the coming weeks with Earnings plays dominating
tomthetrader: who will beat and guide forward /
tomthetrader: Big money will be made in the options market from March 3rd to July 4th in the options market
(12:14 PM) TTTMichael: AA options, CHK options??
tomthetrader: Love them Both

tomthetrader: F CHK UNG AA UYM options ITM 3-6 months out
tomthetrader: Again we are 100% cash here in TRADERS now
tomthetrader: looking for a short term edge
(12:41 PM) DE_TTT: FCSX may be a decent spec...negative enterprise value
tomthetrader: Thanks DE
tomthetrader: FCSX look s good
tomthetrader: it is a stock pickers dream in here
(12:42 PM) DE_TTT: You sure have that right!
tomthetrader: I have about 700 I am scanning whereas I was down to 40-60 a few weeks ago !
tomthetrader: so we are on the starting line of some massive wealth building
(12:43 PM) DE_TTT: Like a field of clover...while it lasts.
tomthetrader: yes ..could be 18 months ?
tomthetrader: That is my plan
tomthetrader: this is the 1st earnings season of the new bull ...it should be very telling as guidqance changes to hope from despair ..remember stocks are a discounting indicator and very predictive of the economy ..best leading indicator we have
tomthetrader: UYG UNCH
(12:49 PM) Fulkdaddy: Tom, that is an excellent point, the reaction to earnings will be key to if this rally can sustain for more than a few weeks.
tomthetrader: yes ..if they are seen as - and the market breaks back to below 741 ..it will be considered a bear market rally ..again !
tomthetrader: and any shot of a new bull will be put off for a few months again !
tomthetrader: the action in the semis over the past 30 days really puts some pressure on these earnings
tomthetrader: and especially the reaction to the earnings
tomthetrader: CHK hitting 20.00 today
tomthetrader: UYG back to 3.00
tomthetrader: AAPL 110.00
tomthetrader: Q's holding 30.50 psych level 30.00 very KEY
tomthetrader: Good thing is this market is being shorted and puts bought
tomthetrader: we need several days of that
tomthetrader: Dow going green /
tomthetrader: Uptick rule is only a proposal, being sent to SEC for consideration next month. And it's only for stocks in "precipitous" decline.
tomthetrader: 816 ES
tomthetrader: 820 SPX
(1:04 PM) JR Roden: Any thoughts of another quick short here for a pullback?
tomthetrader: I think that if you have a trigger ...7750 YM can be shorted
tomthetrader: I am not getting a trigger to sell but my gut tells me it should retest -100 today
tomthetrader: 7755 cash we will short ...with a tight stop 2 contracts stop 7800
tomthetrader: again 0 reason to short but gut says it should ..so it will go higher 1st 1
tomthetrader: No technical reason for selling here but we took a short in YM from cash 7755 stop 7800 on 2 contracts
(1:16 PM) dhmohan1963: interesting read on fas and faz, both lost money to 7 and 20 from 60 is it due to costs in contracts
(1:24 PM) bloomert: Was out for a bit, are we still long YM from 7685?
tomthetrader: you may recall in the 1999 tech bubble when the 1st big fund to come out at 2 beta were the Profunds NDX long/short.
It destroyed a lot of people when that party was over.
If people understood the "true beta" phenom, they would have been better off.
(1:26 PM) bloomert: I am still long, guess I should look to reverse, TY Tom
tomthetrader: 7796 may be the highs for the say ?
tomthetrader: day
(1:27 PM) Fulkdaddy: this rally is amazing
(1:28 PM) Fulkdaddy: my FAZ from the close yesterday is now under H20
(1:29 PM) ctmhou: Were pulling for you Dave.
(1:30 PM) ctmhou: Yesterday was so easy compared to today.
(1:32 PM) JR Roden: I did bring that trade suggestion up a bit early. Blame it on me.
(1:33 PM) JR Roden: This is a GREAT moment for me ... TTT and I had the same exact gut feeling
(1:34 PM) Fulkdaddy: The forced redemptions are what killed us in '08 Tom...the indicators didn't work
tomthetrader: 7775
(1:35 PM) Fulkdaddy: Rev is on vacation
tomthetrader: 7760
tomthetrader: stop
tomthetrader: stopped out of 2 long Ym from 7760 cash we are 100% cash
(1:44 PM) Fulkdaddy: What did the last guy say on CNBC? 90% of traders think we will retest the lows? I missed it as my phone rang
(1:44 PM) Fulkdaddy: contrary indicator...I like it!
(1:45 PM) Nick_H_SanDiego: The ES is right at the top of the 30 min opening range acting as support
(1:46 PM) thomas_Poland: I wish I have the same confidence as Tom in new bull market

(1:49 PM) thomas_Poland: yes ... I was talking about America
tomthetrader:
(1:49 PM) thomas_Poland: not TTT
(1:49 PM) thomas_Poland: all my analysis points to new lows
(1:49 PM) thomas_Poland: but first up till beginning of April
tomthetrader: All mine looks at new highs !
tomthetrader: higher highs higher lows
tomthetrader: Bull market for 18 months with occassional 1-3% correction and 2-3 8-10 % corrections
(1:51 PM) thomas_Poland: yes .. and that is the point I don't like
tomthetrader: Just like all other historical precedents
(1:52 PM) thomas_Poland: in this bear market we had so many first times ...
tomthetrader: drawdown will be the key
tomthetrader: and we now have some 1sts in the new Bull market !
tomthetrader: firsts
tomthetrader: are in vogue /
tomthetrader: Again I pinpointed the HOD and my trading is a bit off now ....so I will hold off on trades for abit ..again we nailed the highs PERFECT
tomthetrader: we just did not trade ...
tomthetrader: lots of days they just give you so many !
tomthetrader: You can 't win after the 1st four or 5 1
(1:54 PM) Fulkdaddy: Tom, I have noticed you are great at picking tops but you do not stay with your shorts as well as your longs...
(1:54 PM) Fulkdaddy: You nailed this top
tomthetrader: Yes very poor at staying with shorts
tomthetrader: I am a Bull Pattern trader as the market spend upwards of 84% going up
tomthetrader: so I am good at going up and not too good about going down ..couldn't be a elevator operator
tomthetrader: As long as my members can make money ...that iswhy I am here
tomthetrader: I am in it for you guys
(1:56 PM) donnieb_1: diito Tom.....and if u are system backtester ......it is next to impossible to make a shorting system work because of the upward slope over time
tomthetrader: and hope you can get educated and make some money for a low cost
tomthetrader: Agree Donnie ..it is a losers game in the long run ...in my opinion
(1:57 PM) donnieb_1: I think Oscar is only $500 a month !!!!
tomthetrader: if you can stay with the long side and just catch bottoms you are about 10-1 ahead of short pattern traders
tomthetrader: OSCAR
tomthetrader: OSCAR

tomthetrader: Zags ?
tomthetrader: Can you answer that ?
tomthetrader: I believe it is optionable
tomthetrader: and can do all the options writes buy writes covered calls etc
tomthetrader: /
(2:21 PM) tcb66: optionable but with huge spreads
(2:22 PM) aszags: If your writing puts on fas, that is a bullish position which you already have if you bought fas. To protect your gain in fas you may want to buy fas puts which will protect your downside
tomthetrader: Thanks ...I would rather now after this run concentrate on individual stocks until we get a BUY or sell signal
tomthetrader: YES Mack Truck Spreads
(2:23 PM) dhmohan1963: i got that answer from tom yesterday as no i want to lower my cost of fas buy by selling puts
tomthetrader: Like QLD calls ...?
(2:24 PM) aszags: The put premiums are hugh on fas. It may be better just to have a stop loss on the underlying stock if you own it
(2:25 PM) aszags: april 7.5 fas put is 1.55/1.65
tomthetrader: SKF 90.00 puts ?
tomthetrader: uptick rule may drive SKF even lower
(2:27 PM) dhmohan1963: zags if i am the writer of puts i get the money and if it falls to 6 then i buy more so premium will lower my cost
(2:29 PM) aszags: you are writing naked puts and simply buying the stock at a lower price if the put is exercised or assigned
(2:31 PM) dhmohan1963: i have read about it but never done it
(2:32 PM) dhmohan1963: i dont mind buying more at 6
tomthetrader: Great way to protect risk and make money ...keep plugging away
tomthetrader: 10000 sh of UYG at 3.01 stop 3.05 sell profit at cover price 2.90
(2:34 PM) aszags: you would have gotten more put premium earlier today on fas when it was trading lower

tomthetrader: Starting at 720, I shorted it upto 800 on Fed day last week. I had to close those positions I opened on Fed day as SPX broke through 800 today.
tomthetrader: Charts of many sectors and indices are telling a long term story that doesn't fit with the current sentiment and action. Therefore this shall pass soon, just like a day following night, spring following winter.
