I will say this once again: In a bear market capitulation lows are only bullish for short-term rallies, they are not bullish for real bottoms. A real bottom will come after bases are built. It will come after no one cares if it's a bottom or not.

(12:35 PM) arujunaa: is anyone else concerned that all of europe's main bourses just closed down about -3.5% today? does this usually lead to a weak U.S. close when we are trading flat to up intra-day?
(12:36 PM) thomas_Poland: What follows what??? That is the question
(12:36 PM) thomas_Poland:
(12:37 PM) arujunaa: so you think europe was following friday's close in the U.S?
(12:37 PM) thomas_Poland: aruj I have the same dillema as you
(12:37 PM) thomas_Poland: I am not sure which one leads .. but think US leads Europe

(2:10 PM) thomas_Poland: and?
(2:10 PM) Nick_H_SanDiego: I've never had the TRIN chart up before...it's very helpful to look at the support and resistance on the TRIN chart to estimate reversal points
(2:10 PM) thomas_Poland: thanks
(2:11 PM) Nick_H_SanDiego: Thomas, do you watch a TRIN chart
tomthetrader: DDM 30.51 bought 10000 on margin for day trade swing trade

(2:12 PM) thomas_Poland: but I use it differently
(2:12 PM) thomas_Poland: I watch the trend of TRIN
(2:12 PM) Nick_H_SanDiego: how do you use it
(2:12 PM) Nick_H_SanDiego: So you put a MA on the TRIN?
(2:12 PM) Nick_H_SanDiego: like a 10 period MA?
(2:13 PM) thomas_Poland: no I just look at trend .. higher highs and lows

(2:16 PM) thomas_Poland:
tomthetrader: DDM long now
(2:17 PM) Nick_H_SanDiego: And Pup, with the etfs, you actually have the advantage that you can do less than a full future contract...which is nice for sizing
(2:18 PM) pupster1: money put up is what u mean?
tomthetrader: stopped out 871
(2:19 PM) Nick_H_SanDiego: Thomas do you have the 5min TRIN or 1min?

(2:44 PM) thomas_Poland: in my opinion
(2:44 PM) TraderTim: We like your opinion
(2:45 PM) thomas_Poland: some action here

(3:06 PM) Nick_H_SanDiego: TraderTim got a good entry at 860

(4:04 PM) Fulkdaddy: Good job Alex
tomthetrader: We just need to keep the bears ...bearish
(4:05 PM) Alex1978: i totally agree with all of you that a rally is coming up but until i see concrete proof of it i ahve to stay short

(4:12 PM) Nick_H_SanDiego: Might have Alex...didn't read it that closely...was more interested in that being an indicator for the equity mkt direction
(4:12 PM) Alex1978: cool
(4:12 PM) thomas_Poland: AA -10%
(4:12 PM) Nick_H_SanDiego: Well now the risk/reward on the Cisco options is like 1:100 so maybe they'll explode by Friday.

tomthetrader: right here
tomthetrader: I will start shorting tonight
tomthetrader: if we start to break down
(4:19 PM) Alex1978: doesnt it rally seem weird to you guys that we've come down all this way, but not yet tested the 2002 lows??? talk about unexpected...most people are not talking about that
tomthetrader: all my stops would be set at 48.00 reverse short
tomthetrader: There are so many problems and most revolve around uncertainty as most have never witnessed the carnage
tomthetrader: and most are now out of the market
tomthetrader: the ones left or speculators like us who can go both ways
(4:20 PM) pupster1: just looked at qqqq monthly and 20 which is 2002 lows seems looming for 2009...i don't know but that's depressing....!!!!
(4:20 PM) Fulkdaddy: I heard all the smart money on Wall Street have been sitting on their hands

tomthetrader: as stocks ex banks seems to have put in long term lows
tomthetrader: OK
(4:22 PM) Alex1978: also, on a closing basis COMPQ is at new lows for the year...that is VERY telling of more downside
tomthetrader: We will be at it tonight ...and see if 850.00 holds
tomthetrader: Agree
(4:24 PM) Alex1978: BUT, i agree tom...the positive divergences are big which just gives us a very mixed picture
tomthetrader: all indicators just neutral at best
